Abstract

Studies are made on the WEDM process performance parameters such as material removal rate, kerf and surface roughness of SS304 following the Taguchi’s design of experiments. ANOVA is performed to trace the statistically significance of input parameter (viz. voltage, pulse-on-time, pulse-off-time and wire feed) on the output response parameters. A multi-objective optimization method is adopted here to trace the optimum WEDM process parameters for achieving sufficiently high material removal rate, and low surface finish as well as the kerf width.
