Language Usage in the Contemporary Society is a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary issue that focuses on the sociological, cultural, and technological factors affecting the use of language. It examines the social determinants of language change or language deviations such as gender, age, societal status, culture, and technological factors such as social media, online gaming, internet, and gadgets.

Inevitably, people are diverging from traditional and embracing modern that even language usage is becoming more and more contemporary in the workplaces, in the community, and at home. This is not seen a problem as long as moral sense is still carried. However, the sad truth is that with the great influence of media, we inevitably learn new fads of expressions and we do not even notice that we stopped caring about ethical sensibility.

The primary goal of this special issue is to provide a forum for scientists and academicians from across the world to promote, share, and discuss new concerns and advancements in the fields of sociolinguistics, ethnolinguistics, and applied linguistics in relation to sociological studies.
